Our promises
We're a small indie studio of gamers, and we don't like games that push people to pay. These are the promises we make to everyone who plays Ant Universe. If we ever fall short, please tell us.
What we keep
Your game progress, and only when you use an online feature such as cloud save or leaderboards. Your colony is saved on your own device and you don't need an account.
The country you play from, added to a daily total, so we know where our players are. Never your internet address or anything more precise.
That's it. Everything else stays on your device, including the year of birth used for spending limits. The details are in our privacy policy.
What we never do
We never sell your data, or pass it on for anyone else to sell.
We never track you across other apps or websites. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and the apps never ask to track you.
We never show an ad you didn't ask for. An ad only plays when you tap to watch one for a reward, and it's non-personalised. No banners, no pop-ups, and the web game has no ads at all.
We never sell power. Money only buys speed, no ads or cosmetics. Everything in the game can be reached by playing for free at a fair pace, and leaderboards and competitive modes ignore anything bought.
We never sell random items. Whatever you buy, you see exactly what you get before you pay. Random chests only come from playing.
No fear of missing out. Every event comes back, and there are no one-time or never-again items.
Spending limits
Before your first purchase we ask your year of birth once and set a monthly spending limit: a low one for players under 18 and a much higher one for adults. We're not your parents, but we think a sensible ceiling is right. Your year of birth stays on your device.
Every purchase shows an "under 18? ask a parent" step, and the price before you pay.
Accessibility
Accessibility is a firm commitment for us, not a nice extra. The game has text size, colour-blind colours, high contrast and vibration settings, and follows your device's reduced-motion setting.
You'll find all of these in Settings > Accessibility.
If anything makes the game hard for you to play, whether it's reading, colours, sound, motion or controls, tell us and we'll treat it as a bug.
Your data, your choice
Every online feature is optional. You can delete everything this device has on our server at any time from Settings > Online > Delete my online data. See Deleting your data.
